I hardly post here any more. I'm not sure if it's because I'm becoming blase, or because I'm not sure if there's anyone out there who gives a toss. I hope there is, especially right now.

Before you think I'm going to dissolve into a lachrymose puddle of goo..this post isn't about me. I want to help someone who's facing some terrible problems and choices right now and I need answers.

My priest, Father John is a man I respect and look up to. I love him to bits. I'm not going to bore you with a long list of virtues. You don't need to know that part. Suffice it to say, he's got the street cred. His eldest son was critically hurt last week at New Smyrna beach. He was stung by a jellyfish. They've got him in Shands Teaching Hospital, in Gainesville, because the hospitals here didn't have the ability to help him any more. What I need to know is this.

Father's facing a LONG drive from Orlando to Gainesville. He can't make that drive twice a week, he needs help. He also needs help with the bills, frankly, because his son didn't have health insurance. I need to know if there's anyone out there, any organization that specializes in giving rides to the families of patients at Shands and other hospitals. I'm saving my money to help Father with the bills but I sure as heck don't have a lot right now and I don't know how to drive.

Can anyone help me? Give me information, on where I can arrange for transportation. Even Greyhound will set Father back a hundred and eight dollars a week, for two round trip tickets. I don't have that kind of money. I don't think Father does either, and right now he's overwhelmed and stressed. I don't want to bother him.

So please help if you can? Let me know what you know. I need some help so I can help him.

God bless you.

Christ is risen!
