She slowly and gradually becomes a secular icon of femininity. Mask is too imprecise for the change, it's almost alchemy. She becomes ageless, graceful and enigmatic, every line and color a code for sensuality, grace and vulnerability, right down to the 'swallow's tail' marks on her nape where her makeup leaves off.
